The event on March 7 will be taking place in three two-hour shifts. Rinse Cycle One 8 am – 10 am. Rinse Cycle Two 10 am – 12 pm and the measuring event 12 noon-2 pm. All volunteers should be prepared to get wet and while dye will not be active, it may stain, so rinse cycle volunteers please wear clothes you don’t mind staining. Each rinse cycle will require approximately 40 people with 4 team captains. Team captains will have a required 90 minute training on March 2nd at 10 am and be responsible for leading ten volunteers at the event. The measuring event at 12 noon will require 400-1000 volunteers and 40-100 team captains. Volunteers will be required to hold the wet fabric as it is stretched over 1/2 mile. This means volunteers must be able to stand and support 30 pounds for up to 30 minutes. Please let me know times and positions for which you are volunteering, also include a phone number by which you can be reached and an email address. (Your information will be used for event purposes only and will not be shared with anyone.)
The event can be witnessed from the UVU Hall of Flags: only registered volunteers will be permitted into the rinse zone.
